Privacy Policy

This policy has been developed by Speakerbus to ensure that you can be confident regarding the privacy and security of all personal information provided to us.

What we collect

Speakerbus are known as the ‘Controller’ (A controller determines the purposes and means of processing personal data) as such we manage the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you. This data does not include any ‘special’ types of information.

Our team request we store:

  • Full Name
  • Company
  • Telephone Number
  • Email address
  • Communication preferences

Why we need your personal data?

We use your basic personal data to provide client services, news and updates in-line with our services we provide you. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need to provide and optimise our services to you.

Where is my data stored?

All the personal data we process is handled directly by our staff in the EU, ASIA and USA. For the purposes of Client Relationship Management (CRM) and Maintenance Contracts, this information is located on Salesforce’ secure servers within the European Union (Germany and France). In this relationship, Salesforce is the ‘processor’. Salesforce adheres to the EU GDPR regulation and proactively protect your data – Saleforce Privacy Policy.

Marketing emails sent to the Salesforce database are securely and confidentially processed using IBM Watson’s Campaign Automation Engage SaaS platform. Full details of IBM’s Data Storage and Processing, privacy and GDPR FAQ can be seen here.

Your personal data is not shared with ‘Third Parties’, unless by law we are forced to allow access.

We have a Data Protection procedures in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data and maintain high standards, maintaining ISO 27001:certification for Information security management systems.

How long do we keep your data?

We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details etc.) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed. Your information held on our Salesforce marketing database is used for promotional and information purposes, this data will be kept until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive communication.

What we would also like to do with your data?

We would like to use your name, phone and email address to inform you of commercial, company, events, product and security updates. You can unsubscribe at any time via phone or the links within our marketing emails.

Your personal interests and preferences can be adjusted via our preference centre at any time.

How do we track website activity?

Cookies
Purpose: The Speakerbus website uses ‘cookies’. A ‘cookie’ is a piece of information held on your PC, which enables our website to recognise you on subsequent visits and allows us to tailor your visit to your specific requirements. If cookies are disabled, you may experience reduced functionality in certain sections of the website.

Session cookies – Site Analytics
Purpose: These cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use our site. We use the information to compile reports and to help us improve the site. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the site, where visitors have come to the site from and the pages they visited. Our analytics service provider will store this information, their privacy policy is available at Google Analytics Terms of Service.

Purpose: LinkedIn Insight Tag is a piece of lightweight JavaScript code that you can add to your website to enable in-depth campaign reporting and unlock valuable insights about your website visitors. As a LinkedIn Marketing Solutions customer, you can use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to track conversions, retarget website visitors, and unlock additional insights about members interacting with your ads. Purpose: Watson IBM Campaign Automation Cloud Tags and Scripts are used to track form submissions, page activity and auto-complete forms (if the client is known to the platform).   IBM’s privacy policy is available at Watson Campaign Automation General Data Protection Regulation FAQs

Your rights to be forgotten or details updated?

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you can request to see this information, have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint about how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection team who will investigate the matter.

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Incident Management and Breach Notification

Incident management will be handled by our Data Protection Officer, who will ensure that the relevant authorities are notified of a potential breach with 72hrs of it being detected. The DPO will also contact data subjects that have been directly impacted and inform them of the breach.

Open Source Declaration

Some Speakerbus products contain open source software. We offer to ship you a CD ROM containing the open source code for our products for a charge of £20 plus shipping (This is no more than the cost of preparing and mailing the CD to you).

Conflict Minerals

Speakerbus Technology are aware of its obligations under section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act regarding Conflict Minerals* sourced from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its adjoining countries.

As a global distributor of Manufactured Electronic goods, Speakerbus Technology is committed to operating in a socially responsible way and promotes total transparency to aid our customers with all reporting requirements as we do utilise some of the materials in the manufacturing of our products.

Speakerbus Technology do not directly procure the minerals so we rely on the information from our suppliers and we work closely with them to ensure the materials are responsibly sourced.

Our Expectation of Suppliers

  • Adopt a policy of responsible sourcing of mineral and pass this requirement through its supply chain;
  • Implement due diligence processes to support that policy;
  • Source materials from socially responsible suppliers.

Information from manufactures is becoming more readily available all of the time and Speakerbus Technology will continue its earnest efforts to facilitate the timely flow of information as it becomes available.
