Dirty COW (CVE-2016-5195) statement

Description of the Vulnerability

The Dirty COW (CVE-2016-5195) vulnerability has been present in Linux kernels for roughly the past nine years.

This vulnerability can be exploited by attackers that have gained shell access to a Linux device. Once an attacker has access to the shell of the device they can elevate themselves to gain root access on the device.

Recommendation

We have carefully assessed the potential for exploitation of this vulnerability and have updated the iManager Communication Server software (v2.410) to remove the vulnerability.

We will continue to monitor what happens around the ‘Dirty Cow’ vulnerability and will take appropriate actions if this does become necessary.
